Hi, I’m Abigail, and I’m so glad you’re here. . .
A survivor of my own hardships, I know firsthand the bravery that it takes to come to counseling. My passion as a therapist is to offer a radically curious space for you to explore your story and what it means to you. I have a deep appreciation for the fact that, as humans, we all experience suffering, and my lived empathy allows me to sit with you in your pain rather than on the sidelines.
I’m a human who loves relationships and sees them as the key to accessing purpose, presence, and joy. Outside of being a counselor, some of the ways I enjoy relating to the world around me include seeing as much of it as possible (I’m an avid traveler); tasting it (baking is a love language and donuts are life); touching it (I am passionate about dance, pilates, and aerial classes); hearing it (I love spoken word poetry and listening to any music that’s not heavy metal or dubstep); and smelling it (you may notice lavender as a signature scent in my office).
Like me, you are a unique individual with your own interests, values, purpose, and story. You are worthy of taking up space. Let’s create it together.
What it’s like to work with me
Counseling with me is a continuous invitation to show up as you are and be met with genuine curiosity, undivided attention, and nonjudgemental presence. I place a high priority on our therapeutic relationship by respecting your autonomy and helping you capitalize on your strengths. Healing happens when you have space to explore whatever is on your mind with the security of being unconditionally accepted. I value transparent communication and a direct but collaborative approach that puts you in the driver’s seat of the goals, pace, and content of our session. The practical approaches I use for individual counseling are tailored to helping you connect with yourself and your inherent capacity to heal. My expertise as a couples therapist is facilitating new reparative experiences in session for partners to replicate at home.
